Aimee was born in Luton and Dunstable Hospital on December 28, 1991. She grew up in Dunstable, attending first Hadrian Lower School before moving on to Mill Vale Middle and finally Queensbury Upper. Aimee started her nurse training at the University of Bedfordshire in March 2010 and graduated in three months before she died. Aimee was working as a staff nurse on Ward 22 at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital at the time of her death. She also worked as bank nurse at Keech Hospice. Aimee worked very hard, gained a great deal of respect and had an enormous number of friends.
Aimee was our much-beloved first-born child. She was very much a wanted baby and she was everything we had every dreamed of. We have always been incredibly proud of Aimee and she brought us untold happiness and joy throughout her life. Laura was born when Aimee was 3 and a half years old. They remained the closest of sisters for the rest of Aimee's life. When we adopted Aimee and Laura's brother, Philip, three years ago our family was complete.
Aimee died 6 weeks before her wedding day. She met her Daniel in 2010 and was excitedly looking forward to their future together. Dan and Aimee were the perfect couple; they worked hard, had lots of fun, made each other laugh and loved each other deeply.
We all miss Aimee so much that it hurts. We had never heard of SUDEP before she died and it has taken 8 months to have confirmation of this as the reason for her death. This tribute has been set up to honour Aimee's memory, to increase awareness of SUDEP and to raise money for the charity, SUDEP Action.
Please feel free to add your stories, photos and other contributions or to 'light a candle' in Aimee's memory. All contributions to SUDEP Action - via this page - will be very gratefully received.
